Once the applicant is identified, the portal will pre-fill known information, present only questions relevant to the licence sought, and collects all key information up front.

If you want to apply for a new AFS licence via the new portal you will need to create a Regulatory Portal account. For guidance on how to register for the Regulatory Portal, visit .

Please contact us at [email protected] for specific guidance relating to the new application experience.

As a transitional arrangement, you can continue to use the existing ob体育 eLicensing system to apply for a new AFS licence. This transition will end when we open the Regulatory Portal to lodging AFS licence variations and maintaining your AFS licence related information in June 2025.

You can start your application, save it as a draft and resume it as many times as you like before you finalise and submit it to us. When you apply online the process is more efficient.

In assessing your application, we will consider whether you:

  • are competent to carry on the kind of financial services business specified in the application
  • have sufficient financial resources to carry on the proposed business, and
  • can meet the other obligations of an AFS licensee (such as training, compliance, insurance and dispute resolution).

The information in your application must be correct and complete, and your core proofs must be lodged promptly after submitting the online application.

If your application does not meet our requirements it could be returned to you or refused, or there could be substantial delays while we seek further information from you.
